Our memory bears are priced by the type and number of clothes used. From a simple memory bear with one shirt to the Original Memory Bear with 3-5 clothes. We'll make a memory bear that tells your story.

I received my bear the other day. I cried the minute I opened it up. It was made from my dad’s clothes. I had asked for a few items to be used. Wasn’t sure if they would understand what I was asking or if they would be able to do it. OH MY!! It came out so much better than I even imagined. This is the 2nd bear I have had made. Yes my husband passed away in 2023 he worked for the state of Texas he had received a shirt from them and I wanted to something special for my first great grandchild what better gift then having it made into a memory bear they knocked it out the ball park I highly recommend trusting them with your precious memories you won't regret it
The bear arrived nicely packed. I was so impressed at the professional and thoughtful crafting of the bear. We used a sweater that my mom wore frequently. I gifted it to my sister as she was having a particularly difficult time after loosing our mom. She was thrilled to receive such a thoughtful and lovely gift.

What clothes work best?
The best clothes to use for your memory bear are the ones that bring back the best memories!
That said, the best clothes to work with are cotton, cotton-blend, t-shirts, pants.
For safety reasons, we cannot add buttons to memory bears.
What clothes CANNOT be used?
We can use almost any type of clothing for your memory bear EXCEPT:
- Anything thick or bulky
- Thick coats or outerwear
- Any clothes that are soiled, stained or with strong smells
- Loose-weave material like crochet or lace
- We can't add buttons or similar embellishments for liability reasons (choking hazard)
- Costumes, sequins, rhinestones or beaded clothes
- For special occasion clothes, please order a My First Memory Bear as it will require more design time & labor
I'm worried about sending my clothes. Will they be safe?
Absolutely! Your peace of mind is our top priority. With over 20 years of experience, you can trust our talented team to make a keepsake you'll love.
In addition to having a dedicated sewing studio, we took the added step/cost to have all packages delivered to a certified UPS Store location.
Why? So that each and every package is kept in a safe, indoor location and is signed for when received. We can't guarantee we'll be in the studio 24/7 when packages arrive, so this process ensures your clothes are ALWAYS safe and not left outside, subject to bad weather or theft.
Once your clothes are in the studio, we'll keep you updated every step of the way.
Don't trust just anyone to cut your clothes! We're the original memory bear company and Oprah's Favorite Thing.
That said, we can no longer fix bears that others have made. It is too difficult to work with clothes once they've been cut (and sometimes to possible).
Do I pay to ship my clothes to The Patchwork Bear?
Since the weight of each customer's clothes varies so much, we can't cover the cost to ship your clothes to us.
The cost to send the finished product back to you is included when you place your order.
Can I make design requests for my memory bear?
YES! We encourage you to pin notes on clothes with special requests like: use this logo, use as much of this as possible, use this for the body, etc. The order form that comes with your order has space to write down general requests.
