Learn the basics of machine sewing in four lessons! The goal is to teach basic sewing techniques while making simple projects.

What to expect (subject to change based on pace/ability of class)
WEEK 1: Introduction to the sewing machine and sewing tools. We will start by learning how to thread the machine, adjust stitch length and sewing speed, thread a bobbin. I'll also show them how to safely use cutting tools & ironing.
WEEK 2: Make a Drawstring Bag. Learn how to sew straight lines, learn about seam allowances and how to follow a pattern.
WEEK 3: Make a Zippered Pencil Pouch. Learn how to sew a zipper, accurate cutting with a rotary blade and using bias tape.
WEEK 4: Make a Stuffed Elephant. They will learn how to sew curves, how to clip corders, and hand sewing seams.
