Basic Machine Sewing Class

Learn the basics of machine sewing in four lessons! The goal is to teach basic sewing techniques while making simple projects.

Cost is for the class only. Be sure to also add the supplies/materials HERE.

When: SUMMER CAMPS in July August- dates available. Contact us if you have a group of 3 or more and we can schedule your own class!)

What time: 9:00-12:00 Monday - Thursday (weekends upon request)

What to expect (subject to change based on pace/ability of class)

CLASS 1: Introduction to the sewing machine and sewing tools. We will start by learning how to thread the machine, adjust stitch length and sewing speed, thread a bobbin. I'll also show them how to safely use cutting tools & ironing. 

CLASS 2: Make a Drawstring Bag. Learn how to sew straight lines, learn about seam allowances and how to follow a pattern.
CLASS 3: Make a Zippered Pencil Pouch. Learn how to sew a zipper, accurate cutting
CLASS 4: Make a Stuffed Elephant OR Pajama Pants. Learn how to sew curves, how to clip corders, and hand sewing seams.

Step 2: We email shipping instructions and an order form

After your order is processed, we EMAIL shipping instructions & a printable order form.

(Gift Kits will ship in 2-3 days and include an order form, shipping instructions & mailing bag)

Step 3: Send your clothes to the patchwork bear

All packages sent to us are signed for upon receipt and kept in a safe, indoor location. We know your clothes are irreplaceable and we take great care throughout the process

Step 4: receive your keepsake in just a few weeks. Instant heirloom!

Please allow 4-6 weeks for memory bears & animals; 8-12 weeks for quilts & bags. May take longer during holidays (Oct-Dec).
